Panjab FA National men’s team will play Leeds United U23’s at Harrogate Town FC, as one of the preparation games for this summers ConIFA World Cup in London.
This is great news for British Asian football and another indicator of the progress Panjab FA continue to make, the growing credibility by working with professional football clubs, with eye-catching fixtures of this nature.
With BAME (Black, Asian, Minority, Ethnic) an ongoing subject in British football, Leeds United FC have taken practical steps, providing the opportunity for the talented and gifted British Asian, Panjabi footballers, the chance to pit themselves against their u23s.
This provides the perfect opportunity to make an impression on National team manager Reuben Hazell for the final squad, to compete at the ConIFA World Football Cup 2018 in London, whilst earning a chance to progress through the football pyramid.
On behalf of everyone at Panjab FA, the British Asian community and the 125 million Panjabi people worldwide, we give our thanks and appreciation Leeds United FC for hosting this fixture to celebrate inclusion, diversity, opportunity and our continued struggle to root out racism in the game and society.
